TIMELESS IN THE VOID

I've been a listener of Dj Jenő's 'NOISE FROM THE VOID' for 4 years now and have been a huge fan of the show. THE VOID has been an emotional sancuary and a limitless source of inspiration for a long time now. Jenő has kindly invited me to be a guest dj on Tuesday, August 18th, at 9 pm. Needless to say, i am at the hight of excitement at the moment! It is such an honour to be spinning records with my favorite dj! THE VOID is on every tuesday at 9pm on 90hz.org. If you are not already a listener, you are missing out.

Jean-Luc Ponty

After hearing 'Computer Incarnations For World Peace' and 'Nostalgia' from 'Individual Choice' (LP) I decided to pay some extra attention to Jean-Luc Ponty's discography by picking up his releases whereever i could. It proved to be a blessing because every album has one or more gems in it. One of the best fusion jazz musicians if i may say so.

Some bits of his music were stuck in my head for days after listening to Lps so i decided to play with them a bit.

Bonus Track:

P.S. Sorry for the clicks on 'Violin Summit'. I've found this record in a very dreadful condition. Tried to clean it up but could only do so much.

RARE SHOT BLUE

I thought this particular artist is more than worth a mention. RARE SHOT BLUE is a one man band out of Christchurch, New Zealand with his first Trip Hop / DownBeat album "Where I Was Born". If you are fan of Massive Attack and Portishead, this one would be deffinetly a good listen. I was taken by the lush and, at times, soulful sound of the album. Hideto Kobayashi's creative ideas, quality production/programming and a few local talented singers is a sure recipe for something special. Featured singers on "Where I Was Born" are LA Mitchell, Sacha vanBeek and Lucy Banas. Album is currently avaluable on i-tunes.

8 Minute Handjob...

I realize that there is an edit of this out there somewhere, on 'creative use' to be exact. I slept through the release and could not be bothered to find it later, so i decided to do my own. It's a song by Labelle from their first album called Moonshadow.

P.S. if anyone's got a link to where i can listen to the 'creative use edit' send me a link please..

Time's Up

Age Of Chance- Time's Up

One of my favorite house tunes and a classic! I have a lot of great memories attached to this one. A good friend of mine played it for me many moons ago and i fell in love with it at first listen. The first copy i got was a bootleg and i bought way too many ;) though i found the original later on. I did not want to adjust it too much because it's perfect the way it is. This was done long time ago and i've used a bad copy for the source, sorry. Eventually i will record it from the original.

Thank you my dear friend Donovan for discovering this for me!

Thank you Bryan (B-Roe) for being a great friend ( R.I.P.)

Hopefully it will strike something within you, as it did with me.
